The Institute’s energy and environment program work includes three annual energy policy forums: The Aspen Institute Energy Policy Forum, the Global Forum on Energy, Economy and Security, and the Clean Energy Forum. The program also convenes, and David moderates, policy-testing dialogues including Aspen’s Food Security Strategy Group; the India-US Track II Dialogue on Energy and Climate Change; the Aspen Ocean Community Dialogue; and the Texas Natural Gas Regulatory Modernization Dialogue, as well as various other dialogues, seminars and the Catto Fellowship.
An attorney by training, David has over 20 years of experience in environmental law and policy. He taught law and ethics at Loyola University in Maryland and served as director of business and environment at Business for Social Responsibility in San Francisco. During the Clinton Administration, David was the environmental management task force coordinator for the President’s Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD). David began his legal career as a program attorney in the Office of Toxics Substances at the Environmental Protection Agency headquarters in Washington, DC.
