Andrew was recently appointed as Chief Executive of Mission 2020, a collaborative challenge convened by Christiana Figueres aimed at driving down global climate pollution before 2020 while driving up development gains and protecting the vulnerable in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
From 2013 Andrew was charged with drafting and delivering the Paris Agreement on Climate Change within the UN, and has crafted the substantive strategy for the UN Climate Change Convention since 2011.
Andrew was previously an International Expert in Climate Policy at the Energy Research Institute of the Netherlands, advising leading firms, public-private initiatives and governments on global technology and finance strategy and analysis, while designing various technology development and financial mechanisms.
Prior to this he was Vice President and Strategies Director of the Australian Conservation Foundation where he provided thought leadership across Australian NGOs on sustainability and environmental policy and legislative reform with a focus on fiscal, economic and technological levers of change.
He has also held senior political and policy advisory roles in Australia during the 1990s, designing and implementing subnational and national policies, programmes, and campaigns in science, technology, water, marine and environmental policy domains.
