Speakers at the 2013 SLOW LIFE Symposium presented a compelling case for companies to scrutinise their supply chains. As participant Jochen Zeitz said, ‘If you do not measure, you cannot manage.’
At Soneva, we want to get to grips with the lifecycle impacts of our activities. We will produce an Environmental Profit and Loss (eP&L) account quantifying the externalities of our business.
We already undertaken a granular analysis of our environmental performance using our comprehensive Carbon Calculator – as shown in our sustainability report – but the eP&L will take this to another level. Alongside, we are also assessing our positive externalities through Human Capital, Social Capital, economic and tax generation.
This will be the first eP&L in the hospitality sector. We will open source our methodology so that other hotel companies can calculate their Environmental Profit & Loss.
