In the session Energy Autonomy of Small Island States, Akuo Energy Group Chairman and Co-Founder, Eric Scotto, will discuss Akuo’s contribution to the Green Energy Revolution: Reunion Island.
Akuo’s contribution is ‘Agrinergie’ – an innovative programme that reconciles energy and agricultural production. Projects incorporate an agriculture section in all power plans, attempting to find the most appropriate crops for each soil type.
In the presentation below, Akuo demonstrate how they have installed 53 MW of solar power across Reunion Island, Corsica and Guadeloupe, using this technique. This has resulted in a net annual GHG emission reduction of 49,079 tons of CO2 – the equivalent to the average power consumption of 45,170 households.
